- Beneficiary
the owner of the deposit or the person designated as the beneficiary by the owner to the credit institution in writing.
- Community deposits
the deposits of condominiums, housing co-operatives, school savings associations, building associations.
- Deposit
a liability created by virtue of a deposit contract or savings deposit contract as per the Civil Code, including the positive account balance of a bank account, as well as certificates of deposit and bonds issued by banks and purchased from 1 January 2003.
- Depositor
the person in whose name the deposit is registered, or - solely in the case of bearer deposits - who presents the deposit document.
- Frozen deposit
a deposit for which the credit institution is unable to make payments within five business days of the due dates stipulated by law or as contracted.
- Joint deposit
any deposit which has more than one owner, with the exception of collective deposits.
- Person entitled to indemnity
the depositor. Deposits whose contractual terms and conditions stipulate an agreement to the contrary shall constitute an exception.
A person who, on the basis of the depositor's authorisation, has powers to use the deposit at the time the deposit is frozen but who is, however, neither the owner nor beneficiary of the deposit shall not be deemed entitled to indemnity.
- Person entitled to use the account
the owner of the deposit, or, if not the owner, then a person duly authorised by the owner to use the account, with or without restrictions.
- Registered deposit
a deposit where the owner can be clearly identified from the data in the deposit contract, the savings deposit contract or the bank account contract.
