Workshop for the Staff of the Montenegrin Deposit Protection Fund

Between 7 and 8 of April, 2008 the National Deposit Insurance Fund of Hungary organized a workshop for the four-member expert team of the Montenegrin Deposit Protection Fund, headed by Predrag Markovic, Director of the Fund.
At request of the visitors, the presentations of the managers of NDIF were focusing on three topics.
Dr. Peter Szekacs, Managing Director of NDIF gave an overview on funding and the premium policy of NDIF, covering the past and present premium regime. He also highlighted the possible future directions of NDIF’s premium system as well as different alternative solutions in the area of premium payment.
Dr. Andras Fekete-Gyor presented his views on the ways of effective reimbursement procedure in the light of international and Hungarian practitioners’ experience. His thoughts were followed by a demonstration of NDIF’s recently developed highly automated Payout System (software) given by Ms. Anita Deak, Principal Payout Officer of NDIF.
In the final section of the workshop, discussion was held about the importance as well as pros and cons of setting coverage and limits, including an “ideal" fund ratio.
The meeting was concluded with a wrap up and mapping out the possible future direction of co-operation and know-how transfer between the two institutions.
